Have been trying to remember some of the HTML stuff and experimenting. Managed to add some text to this page online using my server access panel and to my surprise it worked! Not much but it is a start. Guess the added text will be overwritten when I publish this entry -yes I was right it has gone, but at least I know how to make minor changes to older pages without a lot of hassle!
Work is steaming ahead getting all the Covington galleries into one accessible package - looking good.
Joe, thanks for looking at this stuff. I will look over your 'contents audit' pdf with interest.

Hi Joe!
I know Marilyn has given you the individual links already but thought you might like to see where Covington images are currently easily accessible from.
The 'COVINGTON EVENTS' link shows village photo galleries that would originally also have been accessed from the Covington website when Mary Anne ran it. It would seem that such an archive was not deemed relevant in this day and age so has since been left out! For the record, I don't like the current style of the village web site - too impersonal ...but then I'm from an age when you wrote the HTML out by hand and had to use your own imagination. Anyway! I'm not that fizzed. These days its all a bit too complicated for my tiny brain. I get enjoyment out of my archive of Covington images and they are available for the asking if anyone is interested. Out of personal interest I will be collecting together more recent material to add a second page that will include the 'ADDITIONAL MATERIAL FOR REFERENCE' stuff as well.
You will see as Marilyn mentioned, the '<<return to the main site' link going to the dummy page that mimicked Mary Anne's pages - and is now a dead end.
Currently I can't figure out a way to change the 'dummy' page for something more relevant, other than to run up a totally new page with the same address and upload it to over-write the original - could work but I'm scared to mess the whole thing up! [using FileZilla].
The older web pages were originally published with an assortment of now defunct software > iWeb, iView and Apple's Apperture. At the moment I use Everweb which is the only user-friendly, reasonably reliable and customisable offline software I can find.

PS Feel free to use any of the Covington images you find, for whatever reason [They are all my own so no copyright problems]

During the corona virus pandemic my normal photographic activities have been severely curtailed. So I am now looking for new ideas to pursue in the hope of maintaining some sort of enthusiasm.

I have been through old photos choosing 45 images not favoured before and editing them from a different point of view - looking for a new direction for my photography! Quite pleased with the results but my editing still needs working on.

Still no more interest shown in the la strada galleries than there ever has been, so have decided to have a major overhaul my own pages instead of working on the Christmas markets gallery!

The la strada 'Chippy' tour galleries are now online and a Username and password added.
